Hello! Thank you so much! I will try my best to explain what I do! (Hopefully it eases Your troubles!!)
I believe this can be Accomplished regardless of the Art program utilized! For mine, all I do is create a pattern! (Four colors, checkerboard, Any will do!) Then, you will copy the layer and rotate it Any which way you like! From there, play with the opacity of the Top layer and Voila!!
Although this example is rotated clockwise by 90º degrees! You can Rotate in whichever way to create new Patterns!
Playing with the overlay type Will also help you and Yield even more Variety! After that, you simple mold it to your Form with the Mesh tool (Or the Equivalent!) Then you have yourself… Very easy to accomplish patterns!
